Introduction to Patient Care Concepts and Medical Terminology

In this course, students will analyze theoretical concepts and principles of practice in the operating room assistant program. During this course learners will examine the operating room environment and discuss professional behaviours, confidentiality, and ethics as it relates to the working environment; apply appropriate medical terminology as it directly relates to the operating room setting; and examine the sterilization of operating room equipment and preoperative standards.
