Full course description
The welding portion provided an introductory foundation in welding and thermal cutting processes relevant to shipbuilding environments. Instruction focused on Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), including power sources, shielding gases, consumables, and basic troubleshooting. Students were also introduced to oxy-fuel cutting and carbon arc cutting (CAC), with emphasis on safe operation, process purpose, and typical shipbuilding and maintenance applications.
