Point-of-Care Ultrasound: Musculoskeletal (Hemophilia Care) - 202630
Self-paced
Instructor: Kyle Scott
Full course description
Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) for Hemophilia Care is a specialized professional development course designed to provide healthcare practitioners with the foundational knowledge and practical skills required to use ultrasound in the assessment and management of bleeding disorders. Participants will progress from core ultrasound principles and instrumentation to the application of point-of-care musculoskeletal ultrasound for detecting and monitoring hemophilic joint disease and acute muscle bleeds.
Through a series of progressive modules, learners will explore ultrasound physics, bioeffects, quality assurance practices, and professional standards before advancing to hemophilia-specific applications. The course also introduces the Hemophilia Early Arthropathy Detection with Ultrasound (HEAD-US) protocol, enabling participants to identify early joint changes and support timely clinical decision-making. Upon completion, learners will be equipped to integrate POCUS into hemophilia care pathways to enhance assessment, monitoring, and patient outcomes.
